My first book
PREDICTIONS did not become a bestseller. However, it was
meant to be one, in all respects. It had satisfied the
prerequisites with flying colors (I had successfully
accomplished all the Herculean tasks imposed on me) and the
publisher had dished out a bestseller’s advance. But the market
did not react as expected. In my mind, it was reality that was
at fault. Being in the forecasting business I have occasionally
seen exceptionally well-done forecasts perform poorly. In these
cases, I am convinced that it is reality, which “misbehaves”. In
the meantime, the story of the making of that book has itself
become a “bestseller” among friends and acquaintances, and this
